The city of Toulouse is the capital of the department of Midi-Pyrenees in southern France, its history goes back to ancient times, even went the capital of the county of Toulouse in the Middle Ages.

1. The Musée des Augustins

2. The Plaza de San Jorge

5. Rue Saint-Rome

9. The palace and the Bemberg foundation Assézat
A mansion, a masterpiece of Renaissance of Toulouse, was built between 1555 and 1557 to the merchant Pierre d'Assézat, which prospered from the woad trade. 1. El museo de los Agustinos
Instalado en el incomparable marco del convento de los Agustinos, construido en los siglos XIV y XV, el museo de Bellas Artes conserva un valioso conjunto de esculturas medievales (capiteles románicos y estatuas góticas). En las colecciones de pintura hay obras maestras de los siglos XV al XIX.
2 2. La plaza de San Jorge
Esta plaza fue la más amplia de la ciudad. En ella se celebraban las asambleas populares y los mercados; y más tarde las ejecuciones capitales. Está flanqueada por bellas casas de arquitectura variopinta. En uno de sus lados, vemos el palacete Lafage con su característica fachada monumental del siglo XVIII. Hoy es un lugar muy concurrido por sus animadas terrazas.
. 3. La iglesia de San Jerónimo
Detrás de una fachada discreta, esta iglesia de los siglos XVII y XVIII, llena de curvas, es notoria por su aspecto teatral. Es la antigua capilla de los Penitentes Azules, cofradía laica que nació como una reacción al protestantismo.
4. La plaza de Salengro
Esta placita triangular data del siglo XIX; la fuente que le sirve de decorado lleva elementos alegóricos de hierro fundido. Entre las hermosas fachadas de ladrillo observe en el número 20 una placa que recuerda que fue la casa en la que Jean Jaurès vivió algún tiempo.
5 5. La calle Saint-Rome
La calle Saint-Rome coincide con el eje norte-sur de la ciudad romana (cardo). Fue hasta el siglo XIX la calle principal de la ciudad en el corazón del barrio comercial. Podemos admirar bellas mansiones de ladrillo como el palacete Serta cuya torre domina el cruce de calles. Algunas casas de entramado de madera recuerdan la arquitectura preponderante hasta el gran incendio de 1463. Hoy, esta calle peatonal continúa la actividad comercial gracias a sus numerosas tiendas.
6 6. El museo del viejo Toulouse
El museo del Viejo Toulouse está ubicado en un palacete del fin del Renacimiento. Su colección se compone de documentos, pinturas y objetos de tradición popular y evoca el pasado artístico e histórico de la ciudad.
7 7. El museo del Compagnonnage
Esta casa con fachada de entramado de madera del siglo XVI fue restaurada por la asociación gremial Les compagnons du tour de France. Alberga un museo que permite descubrir el universo de los gremios a través de obras maestras y objetos de ayer y de hoy.
8 8. El ostal Doccitània
Hugues de Boysson y Jean de Cheverry, mercaderes y capitouls (representantes de la ciudad), mandaron construir esta mansión medio gótica, medio renacentista. Hoy es la sede del Ostal d’Occitània, lugar de intercambios de la actual cultura occitana.
9 9. El palacete de Assezát y la fundación Bemberg
Este palacete, obra maestra del Renacimiento tolosano, fue edificado entre 1555 y 1557 para el mercader Pierre d’Assézat, que prosperó con el comercio del glasto (hierba pastel). Se extiende alrededor de un gran patio con fachadas, galería y balcones. Hoy es la sede de la fundación Bemberg (rico coleccionista de mobiliario, pinturas y otros objetos) y de sociedades científicas entre las que se encuentra la de los juegos florales.
1 10. La basílica de Saint Sernin de Toulouse
También conocida como basílica de San Saturnino de Tolosa. Es uno de los edificios más emblemáticos de Toulouse, la iglesia románica más grande de Occitania y la segunda más antigua de toda Francia, después de la abadía de Cluny.
